london with swarovski

Between family commitments and work ones, it’s not often that I get a chance to do anything as glamorous as jet off to London for the day.  But when Anna and I were invited to spend the morning with Swarovski, celebrating the inspiring females in our lives, we jumped at the chance to do just that.

Swarovski’s ‘Galentines’ campaign this year focuses on gifting the ladies in your life who encourage and inspire.  It’s a message of female empowerment, and one that recognises that women are a powerful force when they support each other.  It’s especially true in this industry I’m a part of, and moreso in life in general.  As mothers, daughters, colleagues, sisters, friends we can do so much more together than apart.

^^  Beautiful Spring at Somerset House, and my favourite piece from the new collection.  Delicate and so pretty!

It was so lovely to have breakfast with some other really energetic and inspiring women, many of whom are juggling motherhood and careers also.  It always amazes me how much more we have in common than that which separates us.  It’s refreshing to sit beside someone you don’t know, and within five minutes know all about their school run pattern and holiday plans.  It’s the very best part of these events for me!

We were encouraged to write a little postcard to our own Galentine – a woman in our life who deserves to be treated this coming Valentines day.  These will be delivered next week, along with a beautiful gift from Swarovski.  It absolutely made my day to be able to do something so special.

After breakfast we headed towards Covent Garden (and can I just say, thank goodness for Google Maps and Andrew’s comprehensive guide book of directions.  Orienteering was never my strong suit! 🙂 )  We stumbled upon the prettiest Deli, and I can thoroughly recommend Aubaine if you’re ever in town.  Cinnamon brioche buns with Nutella for the win!

From there we hot footed it to Liberty and Regent Street for a little window shopping and picture taking, before having lunch and making our way home.

It was the briefest of trips, but the sweetest of ones.  I’m so excited for my Galentine to receive her very special delivery next week and my own little Swarovski gift was passed to Eva to share with her little Galentine too.  Women celebrating women (even the little ones!)  What a message, eh?

E x

Thank you so much to Swarovski (and lovely Laura!) for treating us this Valentines season!

What a wonderful message. I’m a big believer in women lifting each other up and encouraging each other in a world where far too many seem to be intent on tearing each other down. Passing on that message to our children is so very important. Also, so many pretty things! Lovely photos, as always.
