Things I’m Loving Lately {September}

September has always been one of my favourite months and this year it has been even better than ever with the sweetest visitors, our new little Ernie and the very best of Autumnal weather kissing our little island. Misty mornings that give way to mild afternoons, and bright blue skies. It could teach Summer a thing or two!
I hope you’ve had a lovely one too.
Here’s what I’ve been loving in September. If you’d like to join in, I’d be delighted. There are no rules for linking up and I’d really love to read all your recommendations! Linky tools isn’t loving me at the moment, but you can tweet me with your links this month @littlewoodlife.  I’ll hopefully get it all ironed out for next month!

I’m not very high maintenance when it comes to makeup, but eyeliner and mascara are my two staples. I get asked all the time about my eye makeup, and the products I use.
I love Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner (it’s a mouthful!), both for its definition and last-ability (you can tell I’m not a Beauty blogger, can’t you?) It also has a pretty great brush, with a thicker side for lining your outer eye and thinner side for the inner and flick. As with any eyeliner, it takes a little practice, but once this is on it won’t smudge or budge all day.
Oh, and for those that are interested I use Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara too. I’ve had some higher end brands in the past and always come back to this!

I feel a bit like I come into my own in September. I’m such an Autumn cliché, but give me the burgundy and the mustard, tan leather and a chunky knit and I’m yours. Or Zara’s. Or Topshop’s. And occasionally New Look’s too. Such a floozie! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’m totally loving this 60’s and 70’s vibe that the shops have going on at the moment though, particularly little A-line skirts with roll neck or fine knit jumpers, indigo denim and jewel coloured cord.

I’ve been working with George this month on creating some life hacks for Mums struggling with lack of storage in their home. There’s just never enough, is there?
You’ll be able to see my post over on their website shortly, but I was really keen to tell you about their range of baskets and boxes as I’ve honestly been so impressed with the quality for the price.
This little wire basket is so inexpensive that I’m determined to stock up and use them to put gifts in, or organise my condiments on the table, soap in the bathroom, even loose candles.

And my other favourites are the grey wooden storage crates. They’ve been amazing for storing Ernie’s toys and grooming products (he has more brushes and perfumes than I do!) and the linings are detachable for washing when they get a bit grubby too.

I wasn’t asked to mention any of the products to you, but I really love a nice storage option, and I thought you’d maybe like a look too!

I ordered this little bowl for Ern weeks ago, and it finally came this week. Chow Bella do the most gorgeous range of pet bowls that you can personalise. There is a range of colours and designs and they are all handmade to order. It does take a little while for them to come, but Ernie is loving it (probably more what’s in it, if I’m entirely honest!)

Our latest local discovery is patisserie Miel et Moi and, honestly, I can’t stop thinking about it. Have you been?
The brunch is to die for (try the French toast with banana and blueberry butter!) and have your head turned by every cake and pastry you pass on the way to your table. Genuinely good coffee, beautiful surroundings and the best selection of sweet treats I’ve come across in recent times (did I mention the blueberry butter?? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) Well worth a visit!

And at home I’ve been making sausage dog shortbread! I used this super easy recipe and my little cookie cutter is from here. I’m going to try icing them next, perhaps with little jumpers for the Winter! ๐Ÿ™‚

And that’s been September with us!
October is looking every bit as hectic, and I’ve some gorgeous brand work to share with you in the coming weeks, some really special party ideas, and all the details of that secret squirrel thing I mentioned a few weeks back. I’m hoping you love it as much as I do!

Thanks, as ever, everyone for being so genuinely lovely to me, us and this little space. Your support and encouragement mean such a lot. I don’t think I say that anywhere near enough!
Have a wonderful October!

E x

Another gorgeous month, Em! I’m seriously lacking in energy on the clothes front at the moment. I normally love autumn knits but I can’t seem to warm to them just yet. Maybe it will happen in October x

Autumn definitely suits you Emma, the colours look fab on you! Loving the purple cords! Think hose grey storage crates would look fab with some of the decor ideas I’ve got in my head for here! In fact a lot of my bedroom ideas are from asda!
I’m getting my post sorted to tag in with you hopefully by the end of the week! As always it’s a bit crazy X

This is a gorgeous post! I’ve done my own one this month for the first time, which I really enjoyed. I know what you mean about September but this year I’ve hated seeing the girls go back to school and preschool.

I love Autumn knits too, give me a good chunky cardigan or jumper to snuggle up in and I’m happy!

Gosh, if I had a pound for every time I read your Things I’m Loving posts and think ‘I’d wear that’ then I might have enough money to buy half of it! I “may” click over to H&M’s website now for another swoon at their fine knit mustard jumper (don’t go and look or you’ll be buying yourself a second one!) x

So much gorgeousness on one page Em! Ernie is just the cutest and look at him peeping over that crate. Incidentally, those crates are rather lovely, aren’t they? Definitely need more storage in this house. Love your last outfit, so pretty and sophisticated all in one ๐Ÿ™‚

Love all your September loves Emma, I’m not sure where to start. How cute is Ernie’s bowl? It feels like he has always been there.
Love your denim skirt, looks great with the mustard roll neck. Gorgeous little baskets from George, we could do with something similar to hold all our random bits of stuff in the bathroom! xxx

Oh Emma, loving this month’s collection of lovelies! It’ll be nice seeing little Ernie grow up, he’s very cute. (And I’m sure keeping you on your toes!) The George storage boxes look fab – in fact I think their homewares are great in general, especially their new Autumn pieces, and so affordable too! K x
