What We Wear {The Pinafore}

When it comes to personal style, I think the humble pinny just sums me up really. A bit retro, yet practical and not too ‘done’, but still quirky enough to be interesting. (I’d so love to be one of these girls who looks good in just a white t-shirt and jeans, but try as I might, I can never quite pull it off with finesse!)

I tried the dungarees thing, way back last year, and just didn’t get on with them. I’m a dress girl at heart, and have been keeping an eye out for a denim pinafore to see me through the Summer season. I have a dark denim one that I picked up years ago from Topshop but I really fancied something paler and with more of a 70s vibe. I came across this one a couple of weeks ago, and it has just filled the little dress shaped hole in my wardrobe perfectly. And it’s so affordable too!

*As a point of reference I’m 5’8” and although this is from the Tall range, it’s the perfect midi length on me. I tend to buy Tall where I can, as I find the fit more forgiving. Aren’t dresses all super short these days? (Showing my age there you see! Ha! 😉 )

Anyway, one pinny, three looks. GO!

    How do I wean myself off wearing jeans? I was determined when I became a SAHM not to fall into this trap but my youngest is 3 and still wants to be picked up and always has sticky fingers! Help, you always look so stylish

      I know Deb, they’re just so easy aren’t they? I definitely had a different style when my three were smaller – more comfort and less dangly jewellery! 😉 I always envied the mums who could wear heels and white jeans. That was never me, and I’d struggle even today with that look! Phases of life, eh? 🙂 xx

    I love your style – every year I try to make more effort to wear dresses and skirts but always end up back in my jeans . Fab post xx

      Comfort is key though, isn’t it Natalie? This wee dress is like a summer version of jeans though – super soft and not tight at all. And it goes with everything! Maybe worth a go? Xx

      Aww, but what an amazing reason to have something not fit! 🙂 I have total bump envy! 😉 xx

    You rock every single one of those looks. I’m envious! Although, this will be a first for me as I’m so not a dress person, but I am LOVING the pinafore. Especially the strippy top look with pumps. I think that’s more the look I could {maybe – just about} pull off, lol! Great photos missus. x

      I can totally see you in that Debs and think you’d look amazing! The plimsolls are like slippers too, so comfy. And they go in the machine – bonus!! 😉 xx

    You look fantastic, it really does suit you! Sometimes it’s nice to see a real person wearing these before taking the plunge 🙂 It’s not something I’d think of wearing but I think I’m going to have to try one on, I especially like the stripy top with it. xx
