styling in season {february mantelpiece}

Aside from all the obvious hearts and red roses that February signifies, for me it always symbolises the start of new growth and the beginnings of the Spring season too.  I know that Spring isn’t officially on the cards until March, but thanks to all these modern technologies (or global warming!) we can get our hands on new season blooms earlier and earlier these days.

I update our hallway mantelpiece seasonally – it’s a focal point in our home and pretty blooms make me smile – and so I thought I’d maybe share it with you periodically through the coming Spring and into Summer.  It’s a nice recognition of the beauty of each season I think, and a good reminder of the joy in each new phase of life.  I generally try to make a little go a long way here, and intersperse fresh blooms with candles, pots and bits and bobs that I gather up as time goes on.

So here we go for February!

Here’s to the start of the most colourful phase of the year!

    Such a beautiful mantelpiece display, I really wish I had a mantelpiece in my house so I could try my hand at nice displays 🙂
