annie’s bedroom tour…

After almost three weeks of decorating and dust, I’m so excited to be able to show you the first of our new rooms!

I had such a vision in mind for Annie’s room (Pinterest is both my best friend and my worst enemy in these circumstances.  I feel like it’s amazing for ideas but at the same time, too.much, choice!)  Anyway, I narrowed it down to something girly and sweet, but equally something that could grow and adapt with her too.  I still feel like she’s little enough to warrant pink (I mean, who isn’t really!  I’d quite happily have this as my bedroom too! 😉 ) but I picked a really soft, dusky shade and balanced it out with lots of off white on the other walls.

For those that have asked regarding paint colour, we used Dulux trade colours throughout the upstairs.  A paint supplier or decorator can get these mixed for you very easily. Annie’s pink is in the shade Dulux 50RR 65/065 if you are interested.  It’s worth noting though that the colour on the card is markedly different from it in reality.  Whilst it turned out beautifully for us in here, I ended up choosing really badly in two of the other rooms.  A story for another day!  I think the key is always, always to get a little tester pot mixed first and try it on your wall.  I learnt my lesson the hard way!

The teepee was such a bargain from Hobbycraft, and I totally stumbled upon it by accident after looking at much, much more expensive ones!  It’s a ‘decorate your own’ type canvas one but we have just left it white, and it’s such gorgeous quality for the price.  Thoroughly recommended!  The fairy lights are from Cotton Ball Lights and I made up our string set in colours to complement the room – white, natural, dark and pale grey and dusky pink too.

The little cushions here are both from Bobby Rabbit, and I have a list as long as my arm of other little pieces I’m after from there too!

Little Maileg bunny and mouse – gifts gathered over the years!

I got the basic white bedlinen set and patterned sheet from Next and the pom pom pillow case and spotty cushion from Zara Home.  The crochet cushion is from Dunelm and the cable knit blanket from Matalan (available in store)  And I totally fell in love with this Liberty print wall hanging from Little Cloud, especially the glitter star!

Annie’s desk is an old one that I repurposed in pale grey (Rustoleum Winter Grey Chalk Paint) and the little princess bunny is a Bunniclub one, handmade in Scotland no less!

This little house shelf is one we picked up in IKEA and I painted the inside of it to match her desk, with a pink chimney too (Cuprinol paint in Sweet Pea)  On it I’ve got a custom print from Buttered Toast Designs, a flower crown from My Dearest Darlings, a little angel from Proverbial Daisy and a wooden star and toadstool from Sass and Belle.

We wanted somewhere to store books, but in a place that was well off the floor, to maximise on space.  We picked up these picture ledges really inexpensively from IKEA and they work perfectly for storing books so that they’re easy to see.  Annie loves using her little step stool to reach them down (again an IKEA purchase, customised with chalk paint!)

I’m so delighted with how everything has turned out in here and think there’s definitely room for her to put her own stamp on it as she gets bigger.

Back soon with Eva and Noah’s rooms too!

A bedroom fit for a little princess! She looks very ‘at home’ there on her bed. I actually love that soft dusky pink, I hope she does too. I am beginning to fall in love with Pinterest too but gosh, how many hours can be whiled away with nothing to show for it?! Happy decorating. x
