When we were designing our house, its location on the site was really important to us. We wanted to maximise on the sun for as much of the day as possible, and create a little patio space where we could relax, play and eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in golden rays. The NI Summer is volatile and often elusive, but when we get a glimmer of beautiful weather, this place in the countryside really is like no other. I know I harp on about how much I love it all the time, but I love it that extra little bit when the sun shines too!
This past week the weather has been so lovely, and we were encouraged outdoors for our first alfresco breakfast of the season…
I recently discovered One.World and got really excited to pick out a few new pieces for our outdoors this season. Their homeware is so, so beautiful (those pink napkins though!) and perfectly in keeping with the whole French courtyard style vibe we’ve got going on over here. I chose items that I knew I could use for a number of purposes (I mean, these would look equally as good indoors as out!) but they were perfect for a little table styling during breakfast this past weekend.
It’s not often that breakfast in our house is more than a quick bowl of Coco Pops and a few swigs of lukewarm tea, but I think I’m a convert to making the most of the production of it in the warmer days. I mean, who says you have to be on holidays to live like you are? I’ll be transforming our patio into that Provencal escape at every opportunity the coming season. Enjoying the rituals of setting and styling with the prettiest accessories, and simple moments spent with my favourite people too!
