If you are this side of the Irish Sea then happy half term to you!
October half term is always my favourite holiday period. It’s that little pause in the busy schedule of everyday life, and very much the calm before the storm of the Christmas countdown too. Even before I had children, I always loved it, and in my head this week is always filled with leisurely walks, crisp Autumn days and spiced everything. 🙂
This weekend started the festivities appropriately for us with the prettiest, most perfect weather days. There’s not much that I love more than NI in the sunshine. I feel like it would be a whole lot more popular as a tourist destination if the weather just worked with us a little more often, ha!
We had a late bloom on our climbing roses last week and it was like one final hurrah before the garden closes down for the Winter period. I’m already wishing the time away until next Spring because there’s not much that I enjoy more than seeing the green of the trees and everything waking up again. I mean, Winter has its own benefits, I get that, but none that surpass Spring and Summer for me.

I love a good silhouette photo so much and the light at the beach on Sunday was just every kind of perfect. This last picture is my new favourite, mostly because of the total abandon with which our biggest girl is dancing in it. These are the days, and these are the memories that I’m so thankful to have captured. There’ll be days in the future when she doesn’t feel much like dancing with her mum, and so I’m fully savouring the ones where she still does. I also wrote something a whole lot more wordy on this on Instagram the other evening. I thought I’d pop it here too if you don’t follow over there…
Here’s to a week ahead with ears open, eh? To hearing the music.
Hope you are having a good one so far everyone!
