back to school with m&s…

My whole way through school (both as a pupil and also as a teacher too!)  I loved September.  Everything is shiny and new and there’s that whole prospect of new beginnings as well.  The possibilities are endless.  (And if all else fails we always have the stationery aisle to revel in.  There’s nothing quite like the smell of new pencils and exercise books, is there?)

And if you’re going to be practicing your very neatest handwriting on the first page of those brand new books (I still remember the pressure of getting it just so!) then you really need to look the part doing it.

Marks and Spencer asked us to road test some of their school uniform range for Back to School this year and I honestly couldn’t have been happier.  Always a firm favourite in our house for the amazing quality and mum-friendly design (Non-iron shirts?  Permanent pleat skirts and shorts?  Crease resistant trousers and pinafores? YES!) they are our go-to each and every year.  As a mum of three, anything that cuts down the Sunday evening ironing pile is a total winner in my book and, from shirts to dresses, polos to PE skirts, socks to shorts, there are technologies to save time and still keep the pieces looking tip-top.

NOAH wearing BOYS SLIM FIT SHIRT, FLAT FRONT SHORTS, SCHOOL SOCKS

EVA wearing GIRLS GINGHAM DRESS, ANKLE SOCKS

ANNIE wearing GIRLS EASY IRON LONG SLEEVE BLOUSE, NAVY KNITTED PINAFORE, ANKLE SOCKS

We chose traditional school uniform pieces to feature in this post, but also selected shorts and skorts for P.E (along with crisp white Polo shirts. I’m wondering how long they’ll stay like that!) and the most comfy plimsolls around too.

We may be very sad that the Summer holidays are coming to a close, and counting the days until Half Term, but September beckons with shiny new shoes and the very smartest threads to see us into this brand new term!

If your littles are heading back to school, or even starting for the first time this year (SOB!) we wish you all the very best for the academic year ahead!
