Life Lately, and our Easter holidays!

There’s something about this time of year. I often wonder is it to do with milder days, or more daylight, or that first glorious smell of cut grass – but there’s something that makes me feel altogether more positive about the weeks ahead.

I look forward passionately to long Summer days here at Little Wood. And lazy weekend mornings in the garden with my favourite four. We were built for the warmth, us Martins! 🙂

Our Easter holidays were a little promise of what’s to come, and we had the best week doing nothing fancy at all.  The weather was so kind to us – better than kind – and we’ve been relishing blue skies,  getting outside, and ALL THAT COLOUR. There’s nothing like a bit of sunshine to make the countryside appear in HD.

Some little snaps below, if you’d like a look…

Door wreath, front door
I love this little blossom wreath. So much so that I think I’ll leave it up for a bit longer. I’m convincing myself that it’s a Spring thing, and not just for Easter. Ha!
Family, life at the little wood
Another day, another forest! It’s our natural habitat! 🙂
We're taking bets on how long these shoes stay white for. (CLUE : it wasn't long!) At least I have photographic evidence of how lovely they looked once!

We spent Wednesday at The Argory, a beautiful National Trust property. We went with our extended family and it was the loveliest day. Six adults, seven children, one newborn and a pup, and it was completely stress free. These are the days dreams are made of – they don’t happen too often, do they?! 🙂

The weather was so beautiful one day that we decided to stay home and just enjoy time in the garden. I should really have been cleaning but, y'know, sunshine has to be enjoyed when it appears at this time of year!

These two fight like cat and dog at times, but then you have moments like this too. How proud I am to be their Mama! :)

What is it with kids and balancing on things?! And climbing too actually! My heart is in my mouth a good 80% of the time, I can’t lie.

I think we maybe need to work on our family selfies!

I always feel so fortunate to have these guys in my life, but never more so than when we get to spend lots of time like this together. It was only a week, and a very low-key one at that, but it just goes to show that you can have the best of times anywhere, with a little drop of sunshine and the right crazies for company. 🙂

Really hope that you had a great Easter too friends!

Gorgeous photos lovely and it looks like the perfect Easter break. Your photos are always so full of happiness and love. I am at that stage where I wonder whether we want another baby, or whether we should count our blessing with the little two cuties we have got- I hear so many people say three is such hard work (which I am sure it is at times) but your three gorgeous children definitely sway me towards wanting another one- you have such a beautiful family. x

How much am I loving your bright rain macs? Totally gorgeous. You do not need to work on your family selfies at all – natural photos are so, so lovely and you can spot different personalities. I love the stage my kids are at but I honestly can’t wait until they’re at the ‘golden age’. Eeeeep! and I can’t wait to have another baby, when the time is right! 😉 Kids are just the best, a challenge (at times), but the best! xx
