A Little Wood Christmas…

Despite our Christmas being spent mostly in the company of tissues and Vicks (what is with this neverending cold/flu?!) I think we had one of our best holiday periods ever this year. That is a bold claim to make when you spend 90% of your day in flannel pj bottoms and don’t wash your hair for three days, but my goodness were we ready for a rest.
Rarely do we spend time off together just ‘being’. Life is one big, manic rush.
Well, you know how it is.
There’s a lot of jollying, entertaining, HUSTLING with kids – managing expectations and dodging behavioural bullets. I think we all need the annual arrival of Santa to just take the pressure off for a bit. Nothing like new presents to give you a morning of peace.
Thanks Mr Claus! 🙂

We did, of course, also manage lots of festive fun with family and friends and, as cheesy as it may sound, those are always the best bits of the holidays for me.
If Christmas is anything, it’s a huge exhale of breath. A time to catch up, chat, laugh, regroup and reflect. Look around, appreciate, plan and prepare.
I definitely did a lot more of all of that this year, and feel so much better for it.

I have this feeling that 2015 just might be a good one!

Some (many!!) photos of our holidays below, if you’d like to see…

Happy 2015 friends! I hope this brand new year is full of all your very favourite things.

There is something funny about the Christmas break, isn’t there?! It’s somehow a COMPLETE catch up on rest and rejuvenation, with days of chaos and madness thrown in! I’m so glad you had a lovely one, and hoping your 2015 is as wonderful as you hope it to be!! Thank you for tagging along with #SavouringtheSeason these past couple of months. I’m sad to see it go, but it definitely feels right for us at the mo. You know I’ll still be popping over every day anyway! 🙂
