I’ve spent the last few hours painting furniture, tidying and baking cakes, and if that tells you anything it should be that school holidays are imminent. I always procrastinate big style, and then try and cram weeks worth of jobs into the three hours before the kids finish. Please say it isn’t just me!
Anyhow, they’re off! And I’m so thankful for long breaks and lazy mornings (it feels like forever ago that we weren’t rushing out somewhere!) for company on my dog walks and for Mr M having some time off too.
As I get older, Christmas definitely becomes less about the gifting, and all-round more about squeezing in as many seconds of family time as possible. It’s as much a time to draw breath as it is to celebrate. And if you saw my selection of Christmas PJs you’d know what my intentions are for a large proportion of the next fortnight. 🙂
I think we all need a few days of rest in these darkest of days at the end of the year. I think of it as the Time Out in the middle of the fight – an extra special one where you eat lots of Quality Street and drink too many mulled things. 😉
I hope you have the loveliest, most peaceful and restful Christmas period. Thank you so much for reading, chatting, and supporting me and this little space in 2015. I never take it for granted, and feel so very fortunate to have you stop by from time to time.
