Christmas in the Country…

It’s not often that I’m glad to see Monday, but this weekend past has been a bit of a crazy one in terms of getting work finished and fixing up our house for the holiday season too!  Mr M and I sat down to eat dinner at about 9pm last night, and it honestly was the first time we’d drawn breath all day.  But still, I’m thankful to be busy, and very thankful for Christmas, and all the wonderful opportunities that it’s affording us this year.

I have a whole decorating post in the works, and we managed to make that little film that I mentioned too, so I hope to get that edited and put together this week if you’d like to see.  I’m realising one hundred percent that Annie is a vlog star in the making.  I’m excited and daunted by it in equal measure! 🙂

Some little photos of our weekend today though, if you’d like to have a look!

My new studio lights arrived on Friday which was just in the nick of time for some photos that I had to take for George.  Saturday was the worst day possible for light, so I definitely think the Christmas fairies were looking out for me there (Thanks Royal Mail!)  You’ll be able to see the full post on Christmas bedding on the Asda blog very soon.

Bringing home the tree!  We decided fairly quickly this year, which is always a blessing in disguise, as three clumsy children and one mucky Christmas tree farm is more often than not a recipe for disaster!  Mr M always asks the guys who work there to cut little wedges out of the bottom of the trunk.  It helps the tree take in more water and stay fresher for longer.  I’m not too sure where we heard this, but it definitely seems to work. We’re usually putting ours out after Christmas when it still looks brand new!  Also – sugar in the water works a treat too!

I’m not sure that Ernie knows what to make of the Christmas decorations!  We’ve gone for quite a natural look this year, so lots of branches, twigs and plants.  I think he’s a bit confused by it all! 🙂  He’s such a cutie though, and swiftly becoming my most loyal pal and defender.  I love him a lot!
